Transportation
The Washington, D.C. area is served by three major airports. Links
to their web sites are listed below.
Most international flights will probably come into Dulles.
Ground transportation from all airports is available from SuperShuttle to all the hotels in this area for a reasonable fee. If you are travelling with another person and going to the same hotel, the cost for the second person is reduced. No reservations are required, just go to the ground transportation area (see the table below). If you are staying at the Holiday Inn, we will have daily transportation by car or van from there to Goddard and back on the meeting days. There is no need to rent a car unless you want to explore more of the area.
Lodging A block of 30 rooms has been set aside at the Holiday Inn Greenbelt about 1.5 miles from Goddard. The hotel has a full-service restaurant and bar. The government room rate is $118.00+10% tax.
Participants are requested to make their own reservations.
Please mention "NASA IVS Workshop"
to get this rate in our block of rooms. Rooms will be released
from the block after
January 10, 2001
(one month
in advance of the workshop)
so please make your reservations before then.
To make reservations you must contact the hotel directly via
phone or fax. They require a credit card to guarantee your room.
Following is a list of hotels that are further from Goddard than the Holiday Inn (and also cheaper). Expect to pay 10% tax in addition to the room rate. Some of these hotels do not have restaurants conveniently nearby.
